In Fantasy Disc Golf, statistics and data analysis reign supreme, but one player has been turning heads with an approach that defies conventional wisdom. Josh, who took an impressive 9th place out of the entire field last year, has recently revealed that his success wasn’t driven by crunching numbers or studying player stats. Instead, he credits something much more unorthodox: intuition, meditation, and even dreams.
"I’ve always been a numbers guy, but last year, I started to feel like something was missing," Josh said in a recent interview. "I realized that I was ignoring a deeper, more instinctual part of my decision-making process. So I started focusing less on the numbers and more on what felt right." Josh’s journey into this unconventional method began with hours of thought and meditation.

Rather than spending his time poring over player statistics, he devoted himself to introspection, allowing his mind to clear and for his instincts to guide him. It was during these moments of quiet reflection that Josh claims his best picks were made. "Some of my picks have been revealed to me in my dreams," he admitted. "It sounds strange, but I would wake up with a strong feeling about certain players. I couldn’t ignore it."
This approach has certainly raised eyebrows among the fantasy disc golf community. Analysts, who typically rely on data and performance metrics to predict outcomes, are understandably skeptical. The idea of choosing players based on intuition rather than hard facts seems, to many, like a recipe for disaster. "Fantasy disc golf is built on data," one analyst commented. "The idea that you can succeed by relying on dreams and feelings is, frankly, hard to believe." Yet, Josh’s record this season makes it difficult to dismiss his methods outright.
Despite the skepticism, he continues to outperform some of the best statistical models. His unique approach has sparked a debate within the community: Could there be more to fantasy sports than just the stats? "At the end of the day, fantasy sports are about making the right calls," Josh says. "Whether that’s driven by data or something else doesn’t really matter. What matters is that it works." As Josh prepares for the rest of the season, all eyes are on him to see if his strategy will continue to pay off. While his methods might be unconventional, one thing is certain: Josh has brought a new and intriguing dimension to the world of fantasy disc golf.
